" "Something is going wrong in Argentine football, can not be that the players succeed in their clubs and not in the selection," said 'The Fuzz' in reference to the leaders of the AFA.

After Maradona's offense, defense and came out Grondona said he had not lied to the former coach. "I still regret that he's gone because it is very sad, but I lied to Maradona. I said in Pretoria that he was satisfied and had to follow, but conditions were different, we had to make changes," he explained.

The dismissal of Maradona struck up the Government House where President Cristina Kirchner spoke by telephone with the ex-coach. "The truth is that I'm a little sad today as Diego," said Kirchner and backed former player, saying "always defended the Argentine colors with the heart."
